Campaign finance – where political money comes from, where it goes, and what, if anything, it buys – is one of the most controversial aspects of contemporary American politics. It is also one of the most widely misunderstood. And, like most other corruption issues, it has called forth a number of proposed "reforms" that may be anything but.

In this session we'll discuss the political money issue, taking a close look not only at the problems but also at the question of what constitutes good politics. We will challenge you to help propose a better way – and we'll talk about some ideas that may surprise you.
