World Expo - April 15, 2007.

Event Description:

The goal of World Expo is to showcase different World Cultures and have lots of fun! It is an annual event where members of the Colgate community have an opportunity to experience different cultures through ethnic performances as well  as food. This year was not an exception. The event featured ethnic performances and food from Trinidad and Tobago, Ghana,  France, India, China and other parts of the World. While many dishes were prepared by the CIC members themselves, others were ordered from restaurants or provided by other cultural clubs, including China Interest Club, Japan Club and other cultural organizations.

CIC has always been actively involved in the event, but this year it was the first time that the club was directly organizing World Expo. CIC, in cooperation with VISIONS, acted as unbrella organization for other cultural clubs to put together this important event in a very short period of time.

 World Party - April 20, 2007.

Event Description:
The goal of World Party is in line with the CIC mission statement - to showcase diversity in Colgate and raise awareness of world cultures in the university community, but in an informal setting. World Party was first organized last year by the language interns and Bunche House residents who wanted to convey a true international party atmosphere through playing music from around the globe as well as serving ethnic dishes and drinks.  Inspired by the success of the event last year, CIC organized the event this year as well.

The event would not have been possible without the contrubution of many CIC members as well as Robert Keo, who was our awesome DJ for the night.
