Liz Pavle - Co-President - Class of 2006 - epavle@mail.colgate.edu
Liz is from Chevy Chase, Maryland. She first became interested in politics in high school while volunteering for the Terry Lierman (MD) campaign with her Young Democrats club. Since then, Liz has interned for Congressman Chris Van Hollen (MD) on Capitol Hill, the Woman's National Democratic Club, and a political lobbying firm.
This is her second semester as College Democrats President and she is very excited to share the responsibility with friend and co-President, Bob Fenity.
Liz is majoring in Art History and studied abroad last spring in Florence, Italy. Besides her involvement with the College Democrats, Liz was the New Member Education Chair of her sorority and is currently working on her senior thesis.
Last summer, Liz worked at GMMB, a political consulting firm in Washington, D.C.

Bob Fenity - Co-President - Class of 2006 - rfenity@mail.colgate.edu
Bob grew up in Spencerport, New York located right outside Rochester. He is a political science major also minoring in art history. Besides working hard for the College Dems, Bob is also heavily involved in Colgate Student Government. He is a member of the SGA executive board as well as the sophomore class council. He has also spent the past year as a Link, helping first-year students adapt to life at Colgate.

Charlotte (Charley) Burkly - Vice President - Class of 2007 - cburkly@mail.colgate.edu
Charley Burkly is a member of the class of 2007 from Flanders, NJ. She is a Chinese major at Colgate, a Sociology and Anthropology minor, and participated in the spring 2005 China Study Group. Charley has been involved in politics dating back to high school when she spearheaded a voter registration drive and helped raise student awareness in what became a successfully-passed school budget. Since arriving at Colgate in 2003, Charley has been an active member of the College Democrats. She worked on a voter registration drive during the 2003-04 school year, and attended the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference (AIPAC) in spring 2004. Prior to the 2004 presidential election, Charley worked as a field manager for the Democratic National Committee and Grassroots Campaigns, going door-to-door each night, raising money and support for Kerry and other Democrats. During the fall semester, Charley organized two campus-wide "Run Against Bush" runs and a lecture with Prof. Wagner, and was given the opportunity, along with several other club members, to register voters in conjunction with Michael MooreÕs lecture at Syracuse. In addition to the College Democrats, you can see Charley active on campus with Run Club, the Admissions tour guide program, the Panhellenic Association, Tri Delta, and Link Staff.

Heidi Johnson - Secretary for Fall 2005 - Class of 2007 - hjohnson@mail.colgate.edu
Heidi grew up in central Massachusetts. She is majoring in Sociology, and will probably declare a French major as well after her return from studying in Paris this spring. Heidi's interest in politics has led her to be an active member of the College Dems at Colgate, and she interned for the Democratic Party and John Kerry for President in the swing state of New Hampshire in the summer of 2004. She is also involved in Students for Environmental Action and edits for the Colgate Voice, a liberal publication on campus.

Allie Weinreb - Treasurer for Fall 2005 - Class of 2007 - aweinreb@mail.colgate.edu
Allie Weinreb is from Chappaqua, NY (home of the ClintonsJ). She is a Peace and Conflict Studies major and a Jewish Studies minor. Besides being in the College Dems, she is the President of the Colgate Jewish Union, a tour guide in the Admissions office, plays club volleyball and writes for the Colgate Voice, Colgate's liberal publication. She is very excited to be spending the upcoming spring semester in Haifa, Israel. She has always been fascinated by politics and has been heavily involved in Israel activism during the past year.

Jake Seip was born andn raised in the San Francisco Bay Area where he attended The Head-Royce School in Oakland, CA. Jake became heavily involved in politics the summer after his Freshman year at Colgate while working as a Field Manager for Grassroots Campaigns, a fundraising arm of the Democratic National Committee. This past year Jake remained active on campus as the IFC Representative for Phi Delta Theta and Treasurer of the College Democrats. He is currently studying abroad in Madrid, Spain while pursuing a double major in Anthropology and Spanish. He looks forward to returning to Colgate this Spring.

Saraswati Devi Singh - Past Vice President for Spring 2004 - Class of 2006 - ssingh@mail.colgate.edu
Saraswati was raised in Brooklyn, New York. She later moved to Queens and attended The Bronx High School of Science.
Her grandfather was a diplomat for India in the U.N., and therefore was exposed to politics from an early age.
She has always been interested in politics, but loves the sciences as well.
Sophomore year Saraswati changed her major to political science once she realized she not only did well in the subject, but was passoniate and motivated in that area.
Saraswati is majoring in political science and minoring in environmental studies. In Spring 2005 she studied in Washington D.C. with the Colgate Study Group. Her current aspirations are to go to law school, and later run for public office to become a career politician on (hopefully) the national level.

Jason Rand - Past President for Spring 2005 & Web Designer - Class of 2007 - jrand@mail.colgate.edu
Jason was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He attended Piedmont High School where was the Editor-in-Chief for his high school's yearbook during his senior year and Editor of Layout and Technology during his junior year. He rowed for the Oakland Stokes during his four years in high school.
Jason is a double-major in Political Science and Art & Art History, Studio Emphasis. He is a tour guide for the Office of Admission, writes for the Colgate-Maroon News, rowed for the Colgate Freshmen Men's Crew team, and is the Philanthropy Chair for his fraternity, Theta Chi. In the Summer of 2004 and 2005, Jason worked at the law firm Wulfsberg Reese Colvig & Firstman in downtown Oakland, California. Jason has been a Link Leader for the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 school year.
