Kelly Cherry has published quite a few stories recently. Her work has appeared in HotelAmerika,
Commentary, and the Literary Review. Additionally, she will have stories appearing in the Idaho Review, the Kenyon Review, and
StoryQuarterly shortly. A longer poem is also forthcoming in the Literary Review. This summer, Kelly has a residency at the Institute for Advanced Study
in Princeton.

Matt Hotham has had a number of poems published recently. "What Ishmael Said to Isaac" appears in issue #4 of Stone Canoe, and "Forms of
Flight" was published in the fall issue (#12) of Copper Nickel. Additionally, Matt appears alongside Anthea Hubanks and Bruce
Smith in the current issue of the University of Virginia's Meridian. Matt has two poems in the issue: "Our Fathers" and "To the Left of Convention."
Anthea, as mentioned in a previous update, has three poems in the issue: "Fall to Marmara," "Last Blackberries Before Michaelmas," and "Radio Barrio."

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt recently released Ginnah Howard's book Night Navigation in paperback. You can find
the cover image, as well as reviews, here. Ginnah is now working on her next novel, Common Descent, an
excerpt of which will appear in Short Story this summer. Additionally, "True Romance '63," an excerpt from the first book of this trilogy-in-progress, Book
1: Rope & Bone, is in the current issue (#8) of the California School of Arts' Eleven Eleven journal. Ginnah has also been invited to be a guest writer at
the University of South Carolina for Janette Turner Hospital's spring 2011 public course, "Caught in the Creative Act."
Ginnah was in Janette's fiction workshop at the Colgate Writers' Conference a few years back.

Annie Wald, formerly the Editor-in-Chief of the Princeton University Press, wrote to update us on her publications since her time at the Colgate
Writers' Conference (then the Chenango Valley Writers' Conference) ten years ago. During that time, she has had nine stories published in various places, including
the Southern Review and the North American Review. Two of those stories were anthologized in volumes edited by Bret Lott, and another was nominated for
a Pushcart Prize. She is now working on a novel about a son's search for his father's past.

Phillip Levine, a conference alum and the poetry editor of the mid-Hudson magazine Chronogram, reports
that his prose poem, "Soon," now appears in Introduction to the Prose Poem, edited by Brian Clements and Jamey Dunham. The book is designed to teach prose
poetry to college undergrads and includes work by many big names in the genre. Phillip's piece appears in the music section, opposite a work by Gertrude Stein.

Paul Hamill has been quite busy recently. In addition to publishing poems in several journals and serving as Tompkins County’s Poet Laureate for
2006-2008, Paul has competed in several poetry contests. He was recently named a finalist in the Ann Stanford contest; he took 2nd place for his poem “A Midcentury
Advent” in the Tom Howard Poetry Contest; and he received an honorable mention in the 2006 Winning Writers War Poetry Contest. The latter two poems are available
online for anyone interested. Additionally, Paul received a state arts commission grant to conduct readings and workshops for venues accessible to senior citizens in
Tompkins County.

Peter Balakian was recently awarded the Movses Khorenatsi medal at the behest of President Robert Kocharian of
Armenia. The medal is one of Armenia’s highest civilian honors, given for creative achievements in Armenian culture, arts, literature, education, and the humanities.
