About Colgate University

Colgate's Taylor LakeColgate University is located in Hamilton, New York. The campus is a nationally known jewel of intellectual achievement and physical beauty. In 2010, the Princeton Review named Colgate University "America's most beautiful campus." Central New York State is James Fenimore Cooper country, canal country and antiques country.

Hamilton is located on Route 12B, 30 miles southwest of Utica and 38 miles southeast of Syracuse. It is about a 4-hour drive from New York City, an hour from Syracuse, and 90 minutes from Binghamton.

Downtown HamiltonFrom the New York State Thruway, take exit 34 (Canastota), Route 5 east to Oneida, and Route 46 south (across Route 20) to 12B south to Hamilton. Route 17 or the New York State Thruway offers access to central New York.

Amtrak serves Syracuse and Utica, and Hancock Airport in Syracuse is served by the major airlines. Please inform us of your travel plans, as we provide rides to and from the airport, train, and bus stations for $40 per trip.
