Delta Upsilon - Colgate University Chapter (Founded 1866)

Mission Statement:

DU aims to provide an enabling and fostering environment for the intellectual, emotional and social growth of each member of our brotherhood. We strive to do this by providing a welcoming atmosphere to all individuals, including an open-door rush process. Colgate's DU chapter has a strong tradition of participation in the university's varsity football team. The team achieved unprecedented success in 2003, winning its first 15 games en route to the Division 1-AA National Championship Game which was televised nationally on ESPN. 31 DU brothers were on the 2003 Colgate varsity football team.

Our brothers are also involved in numerous other activities on campus. Whether it is intercollegiate athletics, student government, music, journalism, or beyond, you can bet that a Colgate DU is involved in it. Our chapter also has a strong tradition of community service. Last year, the chapter performed hundreds of hours of community service, including hosting a picnic for then-Hamilton Mayor Charlie Getchonis and dozens of local residents at the DU House, a Halloween party for youngsters at a local restaurant, and an American Heart Association Walk-a-Thon in nearby Utica.
