Phi Delta Theta enjoyed a very successful semester last fall. Among many other activities, including the initiation of a new class, one might remember these events:
Red Cross Blood Drive: Phi Delta Theta sponsored and organized one of the most successful blood drives ever at
Colgate. Thanks to the outstanding generosity of the Colgate community, the Red Cross volunteers drew Eighty quarts of blood that day. Unfortuantely, the number of donors far exceeded the number the Red Cross could handle. People were forced to wait, and many were turned away. We will be certain to have them bring more beds and technicians next time!
The new class to Phi Delta Theta raised almost $500.00 for the Community Memorial Hospital, by calling for donations at the COOP and by walking door to door on campus.
Phi Delts contribute a full week of COOP hours, to draw people into the rejuvinated SafeRide program. It is with their help, that SafeRide is running so successfully this semester.
This semester, Phi Delta Theta has plans to "Adopt a Highway," and make admission to our annual "Black and White" Blast dependent on a food or dollar donation to the Hamilton Food Cupboard. In addition, we hope to sponsor a speaker, and have our second new member class of the year tackle another community service project.
