Area Attractions
| Our
region of upstate New York is known as Leatherstocking
Country, homage to James Fenimore Cooper. The surrounding area offers a wealth of activities and attractions. Bouckville, five minutes north of town, is an antiquing center with more than 30 shops. Hamilton itself is a lovely rural village with a variety of architecture (a self-guided architectural walk is avai- lable), quiet neighborhoods, and small shops. The gorgeous hilly countryside surrounding the village is ideal for strolling, biking, rollerblading or running. Colgate's Seven Oaks Golf Course and Country Club will also be open (green fees apply). |
