Mission of the Colgate Rugby Alumni Association
The Colgate Rugby Alumni Association was created to achieve the following goals.
1) To help the Colgate University Rugby Football Club succeed on the rugby pitch and become the premier club in the New York State Rugby Conference.
2) To increase the financial security of the Colgate University RFC. by contributing to the Club's endowment and through fundraising efforts. It is through alumni financial support that the Club has and will continue to tour internationally and across the nation.
3) To hold an annual Alumni Weekend and an Old Boy Game, in order to bring together Rugby Alumni and build upon the Club's storied tradition.
4) To develop an Alumni Network, helping recent graduates to achieve their career goals, and to join rugby clubs across the country, further developing Colgate RFC.
Alumni remember their days on Academy Field
"Undefeated in the '81 season... we really did have a great bunch of guys and a good team." - Class of 1982
"If you are planning an Ireland trip again, I'd like to tag along. And I'm happy to help seniors with a job search." - Class of 1978
"There are some wonderful stories of our early days with many wins over Princeton, Cornell and Syracuse... and a most wonderful loss to the Vassar Girl's team during the Spring of 1970... we didn't make it back to campus for several days as those lovely ladies showed their appreciation for our efforts!!" - Class of 1970
"Many of my classmates, friends and fraternity brothers are in the 1973 picture of the Colgate RFC in your archives on the website. Phi Kappa Psi provided a lot of members for the Club during the 1970s. They got me involved. Last I heard, some of us are still playing!" - Class of 1976
