Basic Hockey Rules
Changing "on the fly" - Players may change at
any time during play.
Icing - Shooting the puck down the ice from
behind the red line across the opponent’s goal line (results in a stoppage of
play, faceoff occurs in defensive zone).
Off-sides - Crossing the
blue line into the offensive zone before the puck. If you are already
“off-sides” you and all of your teammates must leave the offensive zone before
reentering (results in a stoppage of play, faceoff occurs outside of offensive
zone).
High Sticking - Raising the stick above the shoulders
(results in a minor penalty).
Checking is not allowed in Women’s
hockey (results in penalty).
