Center Ice Club Mission

Made up of enthusiastic and loyal Colgate supporters, the Center Ice Club exists to support and recognize the Colgate Women’s Hockey program. The Center Ice Club has two major missions; first, to raise funds to support the growth and development of the women’s ice hockey program and, second, to connect and re-connect former players, coaches, parents and friends of Colgate Women’s hockey through an active network..

By contributing to us through the Center Ice Club, your help will support our student athletes and coaches by providing funds that allow us to supplement our budget and enhance our program. Money received in the Center Ice Club restricted fund account will assist the women’s ice hockey operating budget in areas such as recruiting, uniforms, equipment, technology upgrades, enhanced marketing efforts, banquets and team travel, including foreign tours.

All gifts to the Center Ice Club count towards university advancement programs, including Reunion class gifts, the Presidents’ Club, and the parents’and grandparents’ Fund. As a Center Ice Club member, you will not only receive the benefits of a tax deduction, you will experience the joy of supporting our outstanding student athletes as they aspire to reach their full academic and athletic potential.

Although the primary purpose of the Center Ice Club is to provide financial support for Colgate’s Women’s Ice Hockey program it also gives everyone a link to the past. Colgate has a strong tradition of women’s hockey dating back to the mid-70’s where players made major sacrifices simply to play the game that they love! We cannot forget the history and tradition that is a part of Colgate Women’s hockey.

One of our biggest priorities is to continue to convince high-profile hockey recruits to enroll at Colgate. We compete for them at the highest level against some of the best colleges in the country. Some of them are bigger and better financed. Our recruiting strategy has proven to be successful with the recruitment of many top notch players from all over North America. Our staff must travel throughout North America to pursue top players as well as arrange for their on-campus visits. The Center Ice Club funds will also be used to fund other needed aids, equipment and materials not covered by the University budget.

Your support is needed now more than ever. For those of you who have been so generous in the past, we thank you for your support and ask that you renew your membership to the Center Ice Club. To those of you who have yet to become members, we ask that you support Colgate’s women’s ice hockey program by joining the club and becoming active in the program.
