Hamilton is located an easy 50 mile drive southeast of Syracuse, NY, and is convenient to Syracuse Hancock International Airport. The 515 acres of Colgate's campus rise from the village to a forested hill, and is considered by many to be among the most beautiful college campuses in the country. The campus divides naturally into two parts, with the older buildings above and much of the new construction below. With the exception of the Dana Arts Center and the Everett Needham Case Library, the academic facilities are located on the hill. At the base of the hill lies Taylor Pond a focal point at Graduation. The university continues each year to update and add new facilities. Case Library underwent a $45 million expansion and renovation that will provide students and faculty with sophisticated technological resources while ensuring easier access to Colgate's outstanding collections. A new town house complex offers students yet another residential option. A brand new science building, the Ho Science Center, a multidisciplinary facility was also opened in the Fall of 2007.
